As daylight fades, Darkness enters Mysteries surrounds A World of Fear! Shadows creeping At the flicker of a candle Uncertainty of the mind; Imagination runs wild. Everyday shapes and forms, Become creatures in the night. Fear immobilizes, And darkness takes over. Restless and terrified Of the unexpected. What mysteries lies between Sunset and Sunrise? Parents as a child Not knowing more than the other That the creatures of the night Are nothing more than the imagination.
This poem, Darkness All Around, will be published after I became a semi-finalist in the International Poetry Contest on http://www.poetry.com . You will be able to find it in the Anthology "Silent Solitude" released in Winter 2002 and "Letters from The Soul" that will be released in Summer 2002. All copyrights are still my property. This poem will also be recorded on one of three CD's entitled " The Sound of Poetry ". There were only 33 poets that were chosen by the Editors of The International Library of Poetry for their unique poetry. I will also be awarded the "International Poet of Merit Silver Award Bowl" and "Bronze Commemorative Award Medallion " for this poem at The International Society of Poet's Convention and Symposium held at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida between March 1st to the 3rd. Since I will not be attending this Convention, my awards will be sent to me as well as my Honorary Membership into the International Society of Poets for 2002-2003, including my subscription to The Poet's Corner. My poem "Darkness All Around" will be presented aloud at the convention by professional poetry reader Alan Rose, and to be displayed in printed form in a special room accessible to all convention attendees. |
